I wish I knew how to add that feature, but I don’t think that I can on the WordPress.com blogs. I am considering moving the blog to a Blogger site, because it allows more freedom.

If you look at the bar at the top of the blog, there is a Subscribe option, but maybe that’s only for those logged into WordPress.
