Friday Fitness Tip:       “Fit or Fat”

Muscle and fat are two different tissues.  You can’t change one for the other.  In other words, if you stop working out, your muscle can’t turn into fat.  What happens, is that your muscles begin to atrophy, or lose size.  Chances are, you won’t be burning as many calories, and if you eat excess calories, your body will store fat.

Muscle is leaner, meaning it isn’t as thick as fat.  You must burn that fat away to expose the lean muscle, and you must lift weights to get that lean muscle, there is no other way.

If you want to be fit and not fat, you must exercise regularly.  You will feel better, burn more calories, and be a lean mean fat-burning machine!
